Friends of Enemies: (Save Europe Now) is a Work in Progress event by Mac Artist Tutor and the director of the Hearth Centre, Polly Wright. Loosely based on the discovery of letters from an Italian Prisoner of War to her grandmother after WW2 Polly explores the explosive impact which results when Mario Golinelli is placed on Dai and Elizabeth Williams’ farm in North Wales in the last years and aftermath of WW2. Exploring as it does, the theme of conflict between commitment to nationalism and the desire for European solidarity, the play has strong echoes of current political tensions and the audience will be asked for post show feedback.
