Best British Short Stories 2014 includes Mick Scully.

TSFG member Mick Scully has a story – The Sea in Birmingham – included in this collection of the best short stories of the year. Well done Mick.

Of course the story was also the title story for our recent anthology celebrating 30 years of TSFG.

Mick’s success is the third story from TSFG members to feature in these annual anthologies. The first one in 2011 had a story from Alan Beard, and in the 2012 collection there was one from Joel Lane.

More tour dates for The Sea in Birmingham

‘The Sea in Birmingham’ tour has added more dates (see entry below for other dates):

May 2nd at 11:30 am at Sparkhill Library – the readers will be Polly Wright, Annie Murray and Kavita Bhanot.

May 10th in Clun (The Hightown Rooms, Clun, Salop SY7 8JB) there will be a creative writing workshop from 2:00-5:00pm, followed by ‘Sea in Birmingham’ readings from Polly Wright, Charlie Wilkinson, Natalie White and Gaynor Arnold.
